Matrix Fitness - Prendas Racing Team
The Matrix Fitness - Prendas Racing Team (previously racing as Horizon Fitness Racing Team) was formed in 2010 as a development squad for female riders and is based on a core of young British riders, many of whom came from the British Cycling Academy programme. The team management and staff aim to continue the professional and personal development of the team, and to give every rider the best opportunity to achieve their full potential in the sport in a team within which everyone is aware of the expectations on them and their development goals.
Riders include: World Champion Dani King, World Cup & World Champion winner Joanna Rowsell, National Cyclo-Cross Champion & World Road Championship winner Helen Wyman, Welsh Road Champion Hannah Rich, National Champion Hannah Walker, Annie Simpson, Penny Rowson, Jessie Walker and Sarah Reynolds.
The team forms part of the ‘On The Drops’ cycling project, working jointly for the development of the team and women’s racing. The project strives to create a positive environment where new ideas and directions can develop.
Johnson Health Tech/Matrix Fitness is proud to be a partner of Matrix Fitness-Prendas, as part of our commitment to inspire and engage people to take part in physical activity, to raise the profile of cycling and sustainable transport and to support the growing interest in women’s cycling.
‘Johnson Health Tech has helped both our team and women's cycle sport in the UK a huge amount. Their long-term commitment to the development of a structured path for aspiring riders is backed by their innovation in promoting top class events in the UK. More than a usual sponsor – the whole relationship and the way JHT UK works directly with the racing team shows a real partnership and determination for everyone to succeed.’
